Join CrossOver Healthcare Ministry and our many supporters on October 15, 2026, for the Compassionate Care Awards 2026: Lifelong Service, Lifelong Care.
For more than 40 years, CrossOver has relied on community support in order to provide high quality, compassionate healthcare to those who need it most. Powered by more than 500 volunteers, 55 employees, and dozens of community partners, CrossOver Healthcare Ministry served more than 7,000 patients last year, but the need for care continues to grow.
We hope you will join us to celebrate CrossOver's thriving community of compassionate supporters.

Meredyth Nelson, PharmD, MSHA
Dr. Meredyth Nelson has served at CrossOver Healthcare Ministry since 2018 as a volunteer pharmacist and now as CrossOver's Community Pharmacy's Pharmacist-in-Charge. Her long career in retail pharmacy and as Director of Pharmacy at the Richmond VA Medical Center reflects her commitment to community pharmacy and public service.
Thomas Meeks, MD
Dr. Thomas Meeks has volunteered at CrossOver since 2005, serving patients as an ENT specialist. After 28 years in private practice, Dr. Meeks took early retirement in 2005, due to a health condition that prevented him from sustaining full-time work. Since then he has dedicated his time to service, traveling to Haiti and Egypt many times as part of medical missions trips and volunteering nearly 1000 hours at CrossOver.
Vivian Bruzzese, MD
Dr. Vivian Bruzzese has served at CrossOver for more than 32 years, caring for many hundreds of patients through CrossOver's HIV program. After completing her residency in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at MCV in 1994, Dr. Bruzzese began serving as a volunteer at CrossOver's HIV program, because of her desire to serve patients who have limited options for care because of poverty or stigma. In 1997, she joined CrossOver's employed staff, and has led CrossOver's HIV care with deep care for her patients, perseverance in difficult times, and an unshakeable belief in the dignity of each person.
