Please join us on Thursday, March, 21st at 8 a.m. for our Spring into Action women's breakfast.
In partnership with the Virginia Department of Health and local resettlement agencies, our refugee program has grown substantially over the past year. For many years, CrossOver has served newcomers to the Richmond area. In March of 2023, our local health department asked CrossOver to assist with refugee health screenings, which are crucial for newcomers to meet residency requirements in the United States. We proudly continue to provide these essential health screenings. Beyond these screenings, our collaboration with local resettlement agencies has allowed us to offer our wide range of accessible healthcare services to newcomers as they adjust to their new lives in Richmond.
Spring into Action assembles women from across Richmond to celebrate compassionate healthcare for our Richmond-area neighbors—and women in particular. Over 65% of CrossOver’s patients are women, and in many households, women make the healthcare decisions for their families. When women are healthy, families, neighborhoods and communities are healthy.
The Spring into Action women's breakfast is free of charge, and all attendees will have the opportunity to make a donation at the end of the event. Men are also welcome to attend.

Amy Popovich, RN, MSN
Nurse Manager, Richmond & Henrico Health District
Amy is the Nurse Manager of the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD). During her 14-year career in public health, she has championed the need for a more innovative and equity-driven approach to improving our region’s health. In 2009, Amy established RHHD's Resource Centers, which continue to provide important clinical and health services in Richmond's public housing and lower-income neighborhoods. In 2011, Amy partnered with local residents to start one of the state’s first Community Health Worker programs that continues to thrive today. During the pandemic, she helped lead the health district in its initial COVID-19 response and through the complex, multi-phased vaccine rollout—all while becoming a trusted messenger to our region's residents. Amy has spent her career focusing on bringing health and education directly into communities by building relationships with residents and families and inspiring public and private partners to work strategically together towards realizing RHHD's vision of a thriving, healthy region for all.
