Join CrossOver Healthcare Ministry and our many supporters on October 16, 2025, for the Compassionate Care Awards 2025: Celebrating 20 Years of Community Care at Henrico Clinic.
For more than 40 years, CrossOver has relied on community support in order to provide high quality, compassionate healthcare to those who need it most. Powered by more than 500 volunteers, 55 employees, and dozens of community partners, CrossOver Healthcare Ministry served more than 7,200 patients this past year, but the need for care continues to grow.
We hope you will join us to celebrate CrossOver's thriving community of compassionate supporters.
2025 Compassionat Care Award Honorees
Dr. Ernest Fornaris
Dr. Ernest Fornaris has volunteered at CrossOver as a primary care physician for more than a decade, serving countless patients in both English and Spanish. The dignity and care he brings to each patient encounter is clearly evident every Friday morning at the Henrico clinic. "It is a privilege to be in a position to care for people and have such trusted access into their private lives, to help keep them well and help them meet their life goals," Dr. Fornaris said.
Ofelia "Ofe" Seredni
Ofe has served as a Spanish interpreter at CrossOver for more than 20 years, working side-by-side with Dr. Don Seitz for the majority of that time. Ofe’s personal story of resettling in the United States and serving migrant communities together with her physician father is what compels her to serve at CrossOver, and she is grateful for the deep friendships she’s developed with staff and volunteers here.
David Bucheit
Dave began volunteering in 2018 at CrossOver, at the suggestion of his youngest son, Dr. John Bucheit, who oversees CrossOver's Pharm. D. program under a collaborative partnership with the VCU School of Pharmacy. As one of two financial screeners at the Henrico Clinic, Dave works alongside our Patient Intake Coordinator in assisting patients and families with navigating the paperwork involved in verifying the services they may qualify for. “Our patients are dealing with really tough circumstances, but it’s so meaningful to see the joy they bring to their everyday interactions,” Dave said.
