Spring into Action assembles women from across Richmond to celebrate compassionate healthcare for our Richmond-area neighbors—and women in particular. Over 65% of CrossOver’s patients are women, and in many households, women make the healthcare decisions for their families. When women are healthy, families, neighborhoods and communities are healthy.
This event is free (including parking!) and all attendees will be invited to make a donation at the event. Men are also welcome to attend!

Meet Our Keynote Speaker
Judy Collins, RN, WHNP
Judy Collins, RN, WHNP, BC, FAAN is a nationally known speaker, consultant, and writer in the areas of women’s health care, health policy, and nurse practitioner issues. Her dedication to health policy issues around nursing and nurse practitioners, infant mortality, maternal-child health, indigent health care, and health professional standards is evident in the accolades of her career. She is the founding director of the comprehensive VCU Women’s Health Center at Stony Point, and an associate professor emeritus at VCU’s schools of Nursing and Medicine. After a year as the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in Washington, D.C., she initiated the VCU/MCV Health Policy Office to focus on governmental relations and health policy issues and education, which she led for 10 years. She has held leadership roles in the American Nurses Association, Virginia Nurses Association, and Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, and been appointed by the governor to the Virginia Board of Nursing and the joint boards of Nursing and Medicine.
She has served as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner volunteer at CrossOver Healthcare Ministry since 2010 and has also served as a board member and chair. Judy has also served in the past as a Trustee and Leadership Council member of MCV Foundation, the Chair of the Professional Advisory Board of the VCU Institute of Women’s Health, and an Advisory Board member of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. She served on the Hospital Ship HOPE in Nicaragua, and on multiple medical mission trips to Panama, Brazil, and the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation. Judy and her husband, Joseph Teefey, enjoy traveling and being involved with their children and six grandchildren (including a set of triplets!).
